Bible Stories for Kids - Abraham & Issac
Bible Stories for Kids - Abraham & Issac
Long ago, there was a man named Abraham. Abraham loved God very much. One day, God asked Abraham to do something very special, and a bit scary. God asked Abraham to take his beloved son, Isaac, up to a mountain and offer him as a sacrifice. This made Abraham very sad because he loved Isaac so much. But he trusted God and knew that God had a plan for him.
Abraham and Isaac set off to the mountain. Isaac carried the wood for the sacrifice, and Abraham carried the fire and knife. Isaac was a smart boy. He looked around and asked, "Father, where is the lamb for the sacrifice?"
Abraham said, "God will provide the lamb, my son."
When they reached the top of the mountain, Abraham built an altar and placed the wood on it. Just as he was about to offer Isaac, an angel called out to him, "Abraham! Abraham! Do not harm the boy. Now I know you love God because you did not keep your only son from Him."
Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in a bush. He offered the ram as a sacrifice instead of Isaac. Abraham was very happy and thanked God. God promised Abraham that his family would be blessed and become as many as the stars in the sky and the sand on the beach because of his strong faith.
