Bible Stories for Kids - Adam & Eve
Once upon a time, in a beautiful garden called Eden, there lived the first two people God created. Their names were Adam and Eve. God made this garden a special place filled with wonderful trees and plants bursting with delicious fruits. Adam and Eve could eat any fruit they wanted, except for one tree—the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
God said to them, "You can eat from any tree in the garden, but do not eat from this tree, or you will surely die."
Adam and Eve enjoyed taking care of the garden and playing with the friendly animals. Every evening, God would visit them, and they would talk and walk together in the cool breeze.
One day, while Eve was walking in the garden, a sneaky snake slithered up to her. "Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden?" asked the snake.
Eve replied, "We can eat from all the trees except one. God said if we eat from it, we will die."
The snake, being cunning, told her, "You won't die! God knows that if you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like Him, knowing good and evil."
Eve looked at the tree. The fruit looked so tasty and wonderful that she wanted to be wise like God. She took a bite and also gave some to Adam. As soon as they ate the fruit, their eyes were opened, and they realized they were not wearing any clothes. They felt ashamed and quickly sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
Later, when God came to see them, He called out, "Adam, where are you?" Adam replied, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid."
God asked, "Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?"
Adam and Eve confessed what they had done. God was very sad that they disobeyed Him. As a result, He had to send them out of the beautiful garden. But God still loved them and promised to be with them always.
