Paul’s Conversion – How Saul Met Jesus and Changed Forever
Once upon a time, there was a man named Saul. Saul lived in a big city called Jerusalem. He was very smart, but he did not like Jesus or the people who followed Him. In fact, Saul was mean to Christians. He thought he was helping God, but he was making people scared.
One day, Saul planned a trip to the city of Damascus. He wanted to find more Christians so he could put them in jail. On his way, something amazing happened. Suddenly, a bright light from heaven flashed all around Saul! He was so surprised and scared that he fell to the ground.
Then Saul heard a voice. It was Jesus! Jesus said, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” Saul, trembling, asked, “Who are you, Lord?” Jesus answered, “I am Jesus, the one you are hurting. Now get up and go into the city. You will be told what to do.”
Saul got up, but when he opened his eyes, he could not see anything! He was blind. His friends helped him walk to Damascus. For three days, Saul could not see. He didn’t eat or drink—he just prayed.
At the same time, Jesus spoke to a man named Ananias in a dream. Jesus told him to visit Saul and help him. Ananias was afraid because he knew Saul had hurt Christians. But Jesus said, “Go. I have chosen Saul to tell many people about me.”
So Ananias bravely visited Saul. He put his hands on Saul and said, “Jesus has sent me so you can see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Right away, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes! He could see again!
Saul got up, and Ananias baptized him. From that day, Saul was a changed man. He began to tell everyone about Jesus. Saul got a new name too—Paul! He became one of Jesus’ greatest helpers, sharing God’s love wherever he went.

- Markers or crayons
- Stickers, sequins, or glitter

1. Draw or print out a template for sunglasses on white paper. Cut them out (ask an adult for help if you need it!), or use inexpensive plastic sunglasses.
2. Use markers, crayons, stickers, or glitter to decorate your sunglasses. Make them bright and colorful—just like the light Saul saw!
3. On one side of the sunglasses, write your name. On the other side, write a word or picture that reminds you of Jesus—like “love,” “hope,” or a little heart.
4. Tape the arms of the paper sunglasses together so you can wear them, or decorate the real sunglasses as you like.
5. When you put on your special “new sight” sunglasses, remember how Jesus helped Saul see things in a whole new way—and how Jesus can help us see His love too!
