Confidence in His Presence

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
— 1 John 5:14

Confidence can feel as fragile as morning mist—here one moment, gone with the first harsh word. But John reminds us there is one place where confidence holds steady: in the presence of God.

When we pray, we are not interrupting heaven’s schedule—we are stepping into a conversation where our name was spoken long before we ever called. The One who shaped the stars bends close the moment we pray.

We come with stammering sentences, half-formed hopes, and requests that sometimes feel too big or too small. None of that disqualifies us. Prayer is not about persuading God—it is about placing our concerns into His perfect will, the safest place in the universe.

The phrase “according to His will” is not a limitation but an invitation. It is the assurance that our prayers pass through perfect love and flawless wisdom. It reminds us that if we could see what He sees, we would ask for exactly what He gives.

So take a breath. Speak plainly. Ask boldly. Then rest—because heaven has heard you. Whether the answer is “yes,” “wait,” or “I have something better,” you can walk forward in peace, knowing you have been heard
