There can be no comfort in sin.
Comfort comes in two forms. One is a shallow pool that dries up quickly. The other is a deep well that never runs dry.
The world hands out the first kind. Sin promises quick relief, a fast escape, a taste of pleasure, but it always comes with a price. Guilt, distance from God, and a restless heart are the change left in your pocket.
But God offers something the world cannot touch. In His presence, joy is not measured out in drops. It is full, overflowing, and lasting. Not a taste, but a feast.
When you walk with the Lord, sin loses its disguise. What once felt normal now grates against your spirit. That ache is grace. It is the Holy Spirit refusing to let you settle for less than closeness with Him.
Real comfort and lasting peace are found only near the heart of God. Don’t settle for shallow waters. Seek the deep well of His presence.
Maybe you’re weary from trying to find rest in all the wrong places. The world’s comforts satisfy for a moment, but leave us emptier than before. Take a step toward God today, even if it’s small. Whisper a prayer, open His Word, or sit quietly and ask Him to meet you where you are. He delights to draw near to those who seek Him. True comfort comes when we stop striving and start receiving. Let His love fill the places in your heart that the world cannot reach. He is the well that never runs dry.
