The book of Isaiah is a profound collection of prophetic writings attributed to the prophet Isaiah. Written during a time of political turmoil and spiritual decline in Judah, Isaiah’s messages encouraged the Israelites to return to God and trust in His plans. Chapter 46 contrasts the impotent idols of Babylon with the sovereign, active faithfulness of God.
