Our Daily Devotion – Faith in the Dark

“Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘Because of your faith, it will happen.’ - Matthew 9:29

Some days, our faith feels too small to matter. We pray, but quietly wonder if it really makes a difference. We hope, but we’re not always sure anything will change.

Then we hear Jesus say, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”

Pause for a moment and consider what He was acknowledging. Jesus wasn’t pointing to the size of their faith, but to the sincerity of their trust. Faith isn’t a feeling or a performance. It’s a simple decision to reach out and believe, even when everything around us feels uncertain.

Picture the scene. Two blind men, living in constant darkness, dared to believe Jesus could change everything. Think about their daily struggles—the isolation, the dependence on others, the quiet ache of dreams that seemed out of reach. Yet they pushed through the crowd and cried out for mercy.

They didn’t have perfect faith. They just had persistent faith.

They couldn’t see Jesus with their eyes, but they trusted Him with their hearts.

And that was enough.

That’s the beauty of faith. It’s not about having all the answers or never doubting. Faith is often messy, mixed with questions and fears. It’s simply bringing your small, mustard-seed trust to Jesus and placing it in His hands.

Even when we waver, He remains steady.

Even when we feel weak, He is strong.

Even when we walk in the dark, He sees clearly.

Maybe you’re in a season like that right now. You can’t see what God is doing. Prayers feel quiet. The path ahead feels uncertain. But this story reminds us that God honors honest faith—not perfect faith.

Not loud faith.

Just real faith.

So today, bring Him what you’ve got. Your hopes. Your hurts. Your unanswered questions. Trust Him one more time. Take one more step.

Because sometimes the greatest miracles begin with faith in the dark.

Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
In His love and grace,
