Our Daily Devotional - "Awe That Abides"
Our Daily Devotional - "Awe That Abides" - Jesus makes something unmistakably clear: fruitfulness is not the result of effort alone, but of connection. The branch does not produce fruit by striving—it produces fruit by abiding.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” - John 15:5 (ESV)
Much of the Christian life gets distorted when we confuse activity with faithfulness. We begin to measure success by what we’ve done, how much we’ve accomplished, or how visible our work has become. But Scripture reminds us that anything of lasting value flows from a life that remains rooted in Christ.
Sunday worship recenters our perspective. It draws our attention away from ourselves and back to the Vine. When we abide in Him, God works through us in ways that go far beyond what we could manufacture on our own.
True devotion doesn’t lead us to admire our labor—it leads us to worship the One who supplies the life.
