Our Daily Devotional - Romans 10:17 — “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Faith isn’t a fire we kindle by force—it’s a flame sparked by hearing. True faith doesn’t rise from within us through sheer effort or determination; it is awakened by exposure—exposure to the living voice of God. This is the voice that spoke galaxies into existence, silenced raging storms, cast fear from trembling hearts, and called dead things back to life. When we listen, we open ourselves to the Creator’s breath, the same breath that fills the universe with purpose and life.

If your faith feels faint today, don’t assume it’s because you’re failing. Sometimes it isn’t a lack of effort—it’s a lack of hearing. Are you listening deeply? Are you lingering long enough in the Word that breathes hope and courage into weary souls? We cannot expect strong faith while feeding on silence—or worse, on the constant noise and distractions of the world. Faith flourishes when we dwell in the presence of God and let His promises echo within us.

You don’t need more willpower to believe—you need more of His Word. Let His truth saturate your thoughts, shape your perspective, and renew your mind day by day. Faith grows as the melody of God’s promises becomes the soundtrack of your life.

When you open Scripture, you are not just checking a box—you are inviting faith to rise. When you lean into worship and biblical teaching, you are nourishing the very thing that anchors your soul and carries you through every storm. Each moment in God’s presence is an opportunity for faith to take deeper root.

So don’t give up—lean in. Open your Bible. Open your heart. Let your soul be attentive to His voice. For faith truly does come by hearing—and when Jesus speaks, even the smallest faith becomes strong enough to move mountains, and hope is rekindled where despair once lived.
