Our Saturday Bible Story for Kids

David was a young shepherd boy who lived in Bethlehem with his family. Every day, David took care of his father’s sheep. He led them to green grass to eat and cool streams to drink from. David made sure none of the sheep got lost or hurt.

David loved his sheep very much. If a wild animal came, like a lion or a bear, David did not run away. Instead, he trusted God to help him be brave. With his sling and a little rock, and with God’s help, David protected his sheep. He knew God was always with him, even when he was alone in the fields.

One day, David played his harp and sang songs to God. He thanked God for keeping him safe and for giving him courage. God was very happy with David’s big heart and his trust.

David’s story reminds us that being kind, brave, and trusting God is very important—even when we feel small or scared.
