Storms reveal us. They expose what’s really inside — our temper, our pride, our fear, our faith.

It’s easy to speak of grace when skies are clear. It’s harder when accusations fly, when misunderstandings sting, when injustice feels personal. That’s when the cross becomes more than a symbol. It becomes the standard.

On the cross, Jesus was mocked, beaten, falsely accused, and abandoned. Yet He did not retaliate. He did not defend Himself with force. He chose forgiveness. He chose surrender to the Father’s will. He chose love in the face of hatred.

If the cross sets the standard for my response, then anger does not get the final word. Pride does not get to steer. Retaliation is not my weapon.
This does not mean weakness. It means strength under control. It means trusting God to handle what I cannot. It means believing that obedience matters more than winning the argument.

Storms will come. That is certain. But my response is shaped by Calvary, not by circumstance.

When the wind rises and emotions surge, I must remember: the cross has already shown me how to stand.
