Quote of the Day
“Because Jesus wept, we know this — we never walk through sorrow alone.” ~ ray mileur
There’s something steadying about those two words in Scripture: Jesus wept.
Not preached.
Not explained.
Not fixed.
He wept.
Standing at Lazarus’s tomb, Jesus already knew the miracle was coming. In just a few moments, death would give way to life. Yet He didn’t rush past the grief to get to the victory. He stopped and felt the weight of it with the people He loved.
That matters more than we sometimes realize.
It tells us that tears aren’t a failure of faith. Sorrow isn’t weakness. Grief isn’t something we need to apologize for or hide behind a brave face. If the Son of God could stand in a graveyard and cry, then we don’t have to pretend we’re stronger than we are.
Faith doesn’t mean we don’t hurt.
It means we don’t hurt alone.
Because Jesus wept, we know His heart. He is not distant or cold. He is near. He steps into our hard days, sits with us in hospital rooms, walks with us through loss, and stays when everyone else goes home.
So when the tears come, don’t fight them. Just remember — the Savior who conquered death once stood at a tomb and cried.
And He still walks with His people.
Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
In His love and grace,
