"Worry begins when we rely on ourselves instead of releasing everything to God? - ray mileur
Worry has a way of sneaking in quietly. It doesn’t always announce itself with panic. Sometimes it shows up as overthinking, second-guessing, or trying to control things that were never ours to control in the first place.
At its core, worry is often a trust issue. Not a lack of faith entirely—but a moment where we shift the weight from God’s shoulders back onto our own. We start trying to figure everything out, fix everything ourselves, and carry burdens we were never designed to hold.
That’s where the trouble begins.
When we rely on ourselves, everything feels heavier. The unknown becomes threatening. The future feels uncertain. And peace slips out the back door.
But God never asked us to live that way.
He calls us to release, not retain. To trust, not strive. To hand over every concern—big or small—and leave it in His hands. That doesn’t mean we stop caring or become passive. It means we stop acting like everything depends on us.
Faith is not about having all the answers. It’s about knowing the One who does.
Today is a good day to check what you’re holding onto. If it’s causing worry, chances are it was never yours to carry. Lay it down. Trust God with it. And let His peace take its rightful place.
