- Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 was written to people whose plans had already collapsed. Jerusalem was gone. Their homes were gone. Their future looked nothing like what they had imagined. Yet in the middle of exile, God reminded them that His purposes were still intact.

That matters.

We often cling to this verse when we want reassurance that everything will work out the way we hope. But its real strength is deeper than that. It reminds us that God’s character does not shift when our circumstances do. His love is not tied to our success. His purpose is not canceled by our setbacks.

When doors close, when health falters, when relationships strain, it can feel as though the story has gone off course. But God does not panic when our plans unravel. He is not scrambling to recover from our disappointments. He is steady. He is sovereign. He is still writing.

You may not understand the chapter you’re in today, but you can trust the Author. His love and His purpose remain unchanged — and that is where our hope rests.
