Quote of the Day

There’s something about a quiet baseball field that invites reflection. The empty bleachers, the pitcher’s mound waiting for the next inning, the long stretch of grass beneath a fading sunset—it reminds us that baseball has always been a game of patience.

A season isn’t won in a single inning. In fact, most of the work happens in the ordinary moments. Showing up every day. Taking batting practice. Fielding ground balls. Playing the inning that’s right in front of you.

Faith works much the same way.

Many people want instant results in their spiritual life. They want a quick fix, a dramatic turnaround, or a moment that suddenly changes everything. But more often than not, the life God is shaping in us grows slowly, one day at a time.

Just like baseball.

You wake up. You step into the batter’s box again. You face whatever pitch the day throws your way. Some days you connect solidly and send the ball deep into the outfield. Other days you strike out and walk back to the dugout wondering what happened.

But the key is the same in both baseball and faith: you keep showing up.

Over the long season of life, God is at work in ways we don’t always see in the moment. Character is built. Faith grows deeper. Trust becomes stronger.

So play the inning in front of you today.

The season isn’t over yet.
