Our Scripture of the Day

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)

Reading Proverbs 3:5–6, I’m reminded of how often God calls me to loosen my grip on control and tighten my grip on trust. There have been many times when I’ve tried to make decisions based solely on my own logic, only to find myself anxious and uncertain about the future. This Scripture invites me to stop carrying the weight of every outcome and to rest in God’s wisdom instead of my own.

When I choose to acknowledge God in all my ways—through prayer, gratitude, and seeking His perspective—I experience a peace and clarity I can’t manufacture on my own. It’s both humbling and freeing to realize I don’t have to have everything figured out. God promises to make my paths straight, even when the way forward feels unclear.

This verse reminds me that trust isn’t passive—it’s a daily choice. A choice to invite God into every decision, big or small. A choice to believe He sees what I cannot and knows what I do not. And a choice to walk forward with confidence, not because I understand the road ahead, but because I trust the One who is guiding my steps.

Sometimes the message we need the most is the one that God uses us to pass along.

Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
