The Battle is Real, But So is The Victory

“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 1:19

Have you ever felt a calling that seemed both exciting and terrifying?

Maybe God is leading you to start something new, mend a broken relationship, speak truth with grace, serve in a way that stretches you, or choose kindness when everything in you wants to walk away.

Then doubt begins to whisper:

“Who am I to do this?”
“What if I fail?”
“What if I am not strong enough?”

That is where Jeremiah found himself when God called him. He was a young man given a difficult assignment. The road ahead would not be easy. He would face opposition, rejection, resistance, and discouragement.

But God did not build Jeremiah’s confidence by pointing to Jeremiah’s strength.

He pointed to His own presence.

“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you.”

What a promise.

God did not tell Jeremiah there would be no battle. He did not promise him a life free from resistance. In fact, He told him plainly that opposition would come. But He also gave Jeremiah something greater than comfort, convenience, or easy circumstances.

He gave him the assurance of His presence.

That same truth still speaks to us today.

When your calling feels too big, your fears too loud, and your strength too small, remember this: God does not call you because you are fully qualified. He calls you because He is faithful.

And He never sends His people alone.

Whatever your “impossible” looks like today — the step of faith you have been avoiding, the conversation you have been dreading, the burden you have been carrying, or the dream you have been too afraid to pursue — listen for the steady whisper of God:

“I am with you.”

Let that be your courage.

The fight may be real, but it will not have the final word. God is with you, and He knows how to rescue His own.
