Walking with Jesus — Faith Over Sight
Walking with Jesus — Faith Over Sight
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Our Daily Devotion
It’s easy to think walking by faith means feeling strong, confident, and spiritually steady.
But real life teaches you otherwise.
Paul wrote these words while his body was wearing down and his circumstances were anything but easy. He faced hardship, betrayal, and suffering. If he had relied on what he could see, he would have had every reason to lose hope.
But he didn’t walk by sight—he walked by faith.
And that matters, because sight can be a poor guide.
Sight looks at your situation and tells you it’s not going to change.
Sight counts the odds and says it’s too late.
Sight focuses on what’s broken, what’s missing, and what hasn’t happened yet.
But faith sees differently.
Faith remembers who God is.
Faith holds onto His promises.
Faith understands that what we see right now is not the full story.
Walking by faith isn’t pretending everything is fine. It’s choosing to trust God even when things aren’t. It’s taking the next step when the path isn’t clear, believing that He is still working—whether you can see it or not.
Practical Application
Today, don’t let what you see determine what you believe.
Trust God in the middle of it.
Take the next step in faith.
And remember—what feels impossible to you is never beyond Him.
Let us Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that I am called to walk by faith and not by sight.
There are things in my life right now that I don’t understand—situations that look uncertain, difficult, and even overwhelming. And at times, I let what I see shape what I believe.
Forgive me for that. Help me to trust You beyond what my eyes can see. Strengthen my faith when doubt tries to take hold, and remind me that You are always working—even when I cannot see it.
Give me the courage to take the next step, to trust Your promises, and to rest in Your faithfulness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
In His love and grace,
