Walking with Jesus - The Danger We Choose
Walking with Jesus
The Danger We Choose
“For the time will come when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.” — 2 Timothy 4:3 (ESV)
“The danger isn’t just false prophets—it’s a church that prefers them.” ~ ray mileur
That’s a hard sentence, but it rings true if we’re willing to sit with it.
False teaching doesn’t spread because it’s powerful—it spreads because it’s welcomed. It tells people what they want to hear. It softens sin, avoids repentance, and replaces truth with comfort. And if we’re honest, comfort can be very appealing.
But the Word of God was never meant to simply comfort us—it was meant to transform us.
There’s a difference between being encouraged and being changed. One leaves you where you are. The other calls you higher, even when it’s uncomfortable. Jesus didn’t build His ministry on easy words. He spoke truth that challenged hearts, exposed motives, and called people to turn and follow Him.
The danger today isn’t just voices that twist the truth. It’s hearts that would rather hear a lie than face the refining work of truth.
So the question becomes personal: What am I seeking when I listen? Am I looking for reassurance… or repentance? Comfort… or Christ?
Because the voice you follow will shape the life you live.
Choose truth—even when it corrects you. Choose the Word—even when it cuts. That’s not harm; that’s healing in the hands of God.
Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
In His love and grace,
