Walking with Jesus — Daily Devotion“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7I used to think walking by faith meant feeling spiritual.Maybe it meant closing my eyes during worship, sensing God’s presence in a powerful way, or having supernatural peace in every situation. Then life punched me in the gut, and I learned something important:Faith is not dependent on how spiritual we feel.Paul wrote, *“For we walk by faith, not by sight,”* as a man who understood suffering. His life was not easy. He knew beatings, prison cells, shipwrecks, rejection, betrayal, weakness, and affliction. His eyes had seen plenty of reasons to be discouraged.Sight showed him hardship.Sight showed him pain.Sight showed him churches struggling, friends walking away, enemies pressing in, and prison walls closing around him.But faith remembered something sight could not explain.Faith remembered the risen Christ. That is the thing about sight. It can be a terrible judge of reality.Sight says the prodigal is never coming home.Sight says the diagnosis is final.Sight says the door is closed for good.Sight says you are too old, too young, too broken, too ordinary, or too far gone to matter.Sight counts the bank balance and panics.Sight watches the news and despairs. But faith knows something sight does not.Faith remembers that graves open. Seas part. Giants fall. Fire does not consume the faithful. Lions lose their appetite. Widows’ oil does not run dry. And a crucified Savior walked out of the tomb.Faith is not pretending everything is fine.Faith is trusting God when everything is not fine.It is knowing that what we see is temporary, but what we cannot see is eternal. It is taking the next step when the road is unclear. It is praying when the answer has not yet come. It is worshiping when the heart is heavy. It is obeying God when circumstances do not make sense.Walking by faith does not mean we ignore reality. It means we refuse to let visible circumstances have the final word.Today, your sight may be showing you impossibility.Good. That is exactly where faith does its best work.Because God is not limited by what we can see.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight."

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” - Colossians 4:2Prayer was never meant to be confined to a few hurried moments at the beginning or end of the day. It is meant to become the steady rhythm of our lives—the heartbeat of a daily walk with God.Colossians 4:2 calls us to devote ourselves to prayer. That means prayer is more than something we turn to only when trouble comes. It is continual communion with our Heavenly Father. It is learning to bring Him our needs, our fears, our decisions, our praise, and even the quiet thoughts we cannot put into words. This devotion to prayer is not a burden. It is a gift.Through prayer, we become more aware of God’s presence and more sensitive to His direction. We begin to recognize His hand at work in circumstances we might otherwise overlook. We learn to wait, to listen, and to trust.Paul also tells us to be watchful. Prayer requires spiritual attentiveness. We are to watch for God’s answers, watch for His guidance, and watch over our own hearts. Sometimes the answer comes differently than we expected, but a watchful heart will not miss the faithfulness of God simply because He chose another path. And as we watch, we are to remain thankful.Gratitude changes the way we see our lives. It reminds us that God is still good in the waiting, still faithful in the trial, and still present when the road ahead is unclear. Thanksgiving does not deny our struggles; it declares that our struggles do not have the final word.Today, let prayer become more than an appointment on your schedule. Let it become the atmosphere in which you live. Talk with God throughout the day. Watch for His hand. Thank Him for His mercy, His provision, and His unfailing love.A life devoted to prayer is a life lived in the conscious presence of God.

Prayer - the Heartbeat of a Daily Walk with Jesus

Walking with Jesus - “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’”Mark 10:27Do you ever find yourself standing before your own personal Everest, staring at an obstacle that feels impossible to overcome?Maybe it is a burden you cannot lift, a problem you cannot solve, a door you cannot open, or a season you cannot seem to get through. There are moments in life when our strength runs out, our wisdom falls short, and our best efforts simply are not enough. It is in those moments that the words of Jesus in Mark 10:27 become more than a verse on a page. They become a lifeline:“With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”This is not just a feel-good slogan. It is a holy shift in perspective. The world teaches us to depend on self-reliance, determination, and personal strength. But Jesus reminds us that our limitations are not the end of the story. In the hands of God, they become opportunities for His power, His grace, and His glory to be revealed. The promise is not that every problem will immediately disappear. The promise is that God is not limited by what limits us. He steps in where human ability runs out. He works when the situation looks hopeless. He makes a way when there seems to be no way. What feels impossible to you is not intimidating to Him.The same God who spoke the universe into existence is not overwhelmed by your mountain. He is not confused by your circumstances, surprised by your struggle, or defeated by your difficulty. So today, do not face your mountain with fear alone. Face it with faith. What looks like a dead end may be the very place where God begins His work. What feels impossible may become the stage for His next miracle. With man, it may be impossible. But not with God.

All Things are Possible with God

Sunday Sermon - Not One Scrap Wasted

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28Have you ever seen an old quilt up close? Each patch tells a story, stitched together from leftovers—a worn-out work shirt, the faded hem of a dress no one wore anymore, bits of fabric saved by wise hands. These pieces, gathered with care by a grandmother who saw value where others saw only scraps, became something beautiful. She didn’t discard what was broken or used up; she kept each one, believing it could be part of something greater. Some seasons of life feel just like that pile of discarded fabric—messy, painful, and unwanted. The diagnosis that changes everything. The door that closes without explanation. The year you wish you could erase from your story. These moments, raw and real, can seem useless, like scraps left behind after the fabric is cut.Yet, Romans 8:28 offers a stubborn, unwavering promise: “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” God never asks you to pretend the hard pieces are good. Some patches are cut straight from grief, heartache, or disappointment—He knows that intimately. The promise isn’t that every piece is beautiful in itself, but that none of them are beyond the reach of His loving hands. He threads each painful patch into a pattern we can’t yet see, redeeming what we thought was wasted.Paul says, “we know,” not just “we hope.” This is the certainty of someone who has lived through suffering and bears the scars as proof. While we may look at our broken pieces and see only loss or failure, God sees the quilt He is creating—a masterpiece woven from the very moments we wish we could hide or forget. Not a single scrap is wasted in God’s hands, and that includes every part of your story. Whatever patch you bring—joy or sorrow, hope or regret—He is making something to cover you, to comfort you, and to reveal His goodness in ways you may not expect. Trust that even now, He is at work, turning your scraps into a covering of grace.

The Rich Man May Be UsJesus said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” — Matthew 19:24Most of us read that verse and immediately think of somebody else.We think of the billionaires, the politicians, the celebrities, the tech giants, and the people whose names show up on magazine covers. But the truth is, compared to much of the world — and certainly compared to most of human history — the rich man is often us.If you have a car, you have more horsepower at your command than kings ever dreamed of.If you have air conditioning, you live with a comfort ancient royalty could not buy.If you have cable, streaming, or a phone in your hand, you have more entertainers available to you than any king with a thousand court jesters. If you have a refrigerator, clean water, medicine, electricity, and a roof over your head, you are already living with blessings much of the world still longs for.The danger is not merely having wealth. The danger is when wealth has us.Jesus was not condemning possessions as much as He was exposing the condition of the heart. Riches have a way of making a man feel self-sufficient. Comfort can make us forget our dependence on God. Abundance can make us blind to our need for grace. So before we point at the billionaires and say, “That verse is about them,” we ought to pause long enough to ask:“Lord, is it about me?”Because the rich man in the story may not be far away in Washington, Wall Street, or Silicon Valley. He may be sitting in an air-conditioned room, holding a smartphone, drinking cold water, and reading this very post.Lord, keep our blessings from becoming our blindness.
