In word or deed. Do everything in the name of Jesus.Paul doesn’t carve life into categories — church stuff and regular stuff, sacred and ordinary. To him, it’s all the same. Every word, every task, every small responsibility falls under Christ’s Lordship.That changes how we live.It means the way you speak to your spouse matters. The way you treat the cashier matters. The attitude you bring to work matters. Even the quiet, unnoticed things — stacking chairs, washing dishes, making one more phone call, saying one more prayer — matter.Because we’re not just getting things done. We’re representing Jesus.And notice something else: gratitude. “Giving thanks.” Not grumbling. Not keeping score. Gratitude.When our hearts are thankful and our actions are done in His name, even the smallest task becomes an act of worship.Turns out, there really aren’t any little things.There’s just faithfulness.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you. But it doesn’t work very well in ministry.Because most of life — and almost all of ministry — is small stuff.Paul says whatever you do. Not just the big, spiritual moments. Not just Sunday mornings. Whatever you do. Eating breakfast. Pouring coffee. Answering a text. Showing up for work. God meets us right there in the routine.There really isn’t a line between sacred and ordinary. The way you talk to your family, how you handle pressure, the patience you show when you’re tired — that’s where faith shows up.Glorifying God usually isn’t loud or dramatic. It’s steady. Quiet. Faithful.Listening when you’d rather argue. Serving when no one notices. Forgiving when it costs you.Day after day, those small choices tell the truth about who we belong to.I’ve learned something over the years: ministry is like an iceberg. People might see five or ten percent — a message, a post, a visit, a prayer. But underneath the surface are the phone calls, the preparation, the private burdens, and a whole lot of quiet faithfulness that only God sees.And honestly, that’s where most of the real work happens.So yes — we sweat the small stuff.Because that’s where faith is built. Some were bold. Some waited. Some spoke. Some nurtured. Some confronted. Some wept. Some led.What they shared was not temperament, stage of life, or circumstance. They trusted God. ⸻ Does This Contradict Proverbs 31?At first glance, people sometimes treat Proverbs 31 as though it replaces the rest of Scripture — as if that chapter gives a single narrow mold every woman must fit.But the Bible never contradicts itself. It complements itself.Proverbs 31 describes a woman who fears the Lord, acts with wisdom, cares for her household, and lives with diligence and generosity. When you look closely, the women we studied don’t compete with that picture — they fill it out.• Eve shows us God’s mercy when we fail • Sarah shows faith stretched by waiting • Hagar shows the God who sees suffering • Miriam and Deborah show courage and influence • Ruth shows loyal love • Hannah shows prayerful surrender • Esther shows timely courage • Mary shows wholehearted obedience • Mary Magdalene shows faithful devotionProverbs 31 is not a checklist.It is a portrait of a God-fearing life lived across many seasons — the same life these women lived in different ways. ⸻ Strength Is Not the Opposite of GentlenessModern culture often offers women two options: be hard and self-reliant, or be soft and silent.Scripture offers neither.The Bible never praises harshness, but it also never praises passive complicity with wrongdoing. The Whole Picture — One Faith, Many Women

<h3>Known by God, Free to Choose</h3>Somewhere along the way, parts of the Church started talking about salvation like it was a lottery ticket God handed out before anyone was born.Names written down. Doors locked. Fates sealed.And if we’re honest, that picture makes God feel distant… almost cold.But that’s not the God I meet in Scripture.The God I see in the Bible calls, invites, pleads, warns, and reaches.“Choose this day.” “Come unto Me.” “Whosoever will.”Those aren’t the words of a God who already decided most people never had a chance. Those are the words of a Father holding the door open.Love only works if it’s chosen.Forced love isn’t love — it’s programming.God didn’t create robots to populate heaven. He created sons and daughters with real freedom. Freedom to walk toward Him… or away from Him.Yes, God already knows the outcome. He’s God.But knowing isn’t causing.A good father might know his stubborn child is going to touch the hot stove after being warned ten times. His knowledge doesn’t cause the burn — the choice does.In the same way, God’s foreknowledge doesn’t cancel our responsibility.It simply means nothing surprises Him.And honestly, this view fits the heart of the Gospel better.Because if everything were predetermined, prayer would be pointless, preaching would be theater, and invitations would be pretend.But they’re not.Every conversation matters. Every witness matters. Every “yes” matters.People really do decide.That’s why we keep sharing Christ. That’s why we keep praying for prodigals. That’s why we don’t give up on anybody.As long as there’s breath in their lungs, there’s still a choice on the table.And that sounds a lot more like the Jesus I know.

Known by God, Free to Choose

Jesus never pretended life would be easy.He didn’t gather His disciples and promise smooth roads, healthy families, and trouble-free days. Instead, He looked them in the eye and told them the truth.“In this world you will have trouble.”Not might. Not occasionally. Will.That’s real life.Every parent raising kids, every family carrying burdens, every believer trying to stay faithful already knows that part by heart.But Jesus didn’t stop with the warning.“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace… Take heart! I have overcome the world” - John 16:33.Peace isn’t found in a problem-free life. It’s found in Him.Circumstances change. Kids wander. Plans fall apart. But Christ remains steady.He has already overcome what we’re still worrying about.That means we don’t have to live anxious or afraid. We can breathe, pray, and stand firm, knowing the outcome is in stronger hands than ours.Trouble may visit your home.But it doesn’t get the final word.Jesus does.And that’s where real peace begins.

<h3>The Parent Trap</h3>Over the years, I’ve noticed something that surprises people.Parents come asking for prayer for their children — and rightly so. A son drifting. A daughter making choices that break your heart. Nights staring at the ceiling, wondering where you went wrong.But many times, before I pray for the child, I pray for the parent.Because kids don’t just hear what we say about God. They watch how we trust Him.Children are perceptive. Like good horses or old farm dogs, they sense fear fast. They pick up on worry, tension, and quiet panic. They know when Mom and Dad say, “Trust the Lord,” but live like everything is falling apart.That’s the trap.We pray… but we don’t release. We ask God to handle it… then we try to take it back.Scripture reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7).Notice the promise isn’t control. It’s peace.Our children don’t need perfect parents. They need steady ones — calm, grounded, anchored in God.I’ve come to believe this:We are the physical evidence of the spiritual reality that God is faithful, present, and still at work.Our peace proves what we preach.So sometimes the first prayer isn’t, “Lord, fix my child.” It’s, “Lord, steady my heart.”Because when parents truly rest in God, children learn they can too.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
