But for the believer, a storm isn’t an identity crisis—it’s an identity confirmation.When the winds rise and the waves crash, we don’t suddenly become children of God—we reveal that we already are. Our peace in the middle of chaos, our refusal to give in to fear, our quiet trust when nothing makes sense—those things don’t come from us. They come from Christ in us.Anyone can stand tall on a calm day. Faith doesn’t cost much when the skies are blue and the waters are still. But when the storm hits, that’s when faith shows its roots. It hit me—when we spend time in the Word, stay in prayer, and walk closely with Jesus, there are side effects. But they’re not the kind we try to avoid… they’re the kind we hope for.Scripture calls them the fruit of the Spirit.In Galatians 5:22–23, we’re reminded that the Holy Spirit produces in us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
