Strength for Whatever Comes“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” —Philippians 4:13Philippians 4:13 is often quoted before a difficult task, a big decision, or an impossible-looking challenge. But Paul did not write these words from a place of comfort or success. He wrote them as a man who had known hunger and abundance, freedom and imprisonment, acceptance and rejection.Paul was not saying, “I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.” He was saying, “Through Christ, I can endure whatever God allows me to face.”That is a different kind of strength.The strength Christ gives does not always remove the burden. Sometimes He strengthens our backs to carry it. He does not always calm the storm immediately. Sometimes He steadies our feet while the wind is still blowing.There will be days when our own strength is not enough. We may feel emotionally exhausted, spiritually drained, or physically worn down. That is not failure. It is an invitation to stop depending upon ourselves and begin leaning more heavily upon Christ.Jesus never asked us to manufacture strength we do not possess. He asks us to remain close to Him. His strength becomes most evident when ours has reached its limit.Whatever stands before you today—a difficult conversation, a painful loss, an uncertain future, or simply the strength to get through another day—you do not face it alone. Christ is with you, and He will provide what you need for the road He has placed before you.You may not feel strong, but the One holding you is. PrayerDear Heavenly Father, I confess that I often depend upon my own strength and become discouraged when it fails me. Teach me to rely upon Christ in every circumstance. Give me strength for today, courage for what lies ahead, and faith to trust You when the road is difficult. Remind me that I do not have to face anything alone. Through Jesus Christ, strengthen me to endure, obey, and keep moving forward. In Jesus’ name, amen.Walking with JesusYou do not need enough strength for the rest of your life today. You only need the strength Christ provides for the next faithful step.

Jeremiah 1:19 Have you ever felt a calling that seemed both exciting and terrifying?Maybe God is leading you to start something new, mend a broken relationship, speak truth with grace, serve in a way that stretches you, or choose kindness when everything in you wants to walk away.Then doubt begins to whisper:“Who am I to do this?” “What if I fail?” “What if I am not strong enough?”That is where Jeremiah found himself when God called him. He was a young man given a difficult assignment. The road ahead would not be easy. He would face opposition, rejection, resistance, and discouragement.But God did not build Jeremiah’s confidence by pointing to Jeremiah’s strength.He pointed to His own presence.“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you.”What a promise.God did not tell Jeremiah there would be no battle. He did not promise him a life free from resistance. In fact, He told him plainly that opposition would come. But He also gave Jeremiah something greater than comfort, convenience, or easy circumstances.He gave him the assurance of His presence.That same truth still speaks to us today.When your calling feels too big, your fears too loud, and your strength too small, remember this: God does not call you because you are fully qualified. He calls you because He is faithful.And He never sends His people alone.Whatever your “impossible” looks like today — the step of faith you have been avoiding, the conversation you have been dreading, the burden you have been carrying, or the dream you have been too afraid to pursue — listen for the steady whisper of God:“I am with you.”Let that be your courage.The fight may be real, but it will not have the final word. God is with you, and He knows how to rescue His own.

Devotion — God Is Not on Our Honey-Do List“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1Most wives know what a honey-do list is. It is that running list of things we hope our husband will get around to fixing, building, moving, repairing, hanging, hauling, or finishing.And let’s be honest, sometimes those lists can get pretty long.But somewhere along the way, if we are not careful, we can start treating God the same way. We bring Him our spiritual honey-do list and say, “Lord, if You fix this, change that, heal this, provide that, open this door, close that one, and answer this prayer exactly the way I want, then I will praise You.”But that is not worship. That is negotiation.God is not our handyman. He is our Father.We do not love God because He checks every box on our list. We love Him because of who He is and because of what He has already done. He sent His Son. He forgave our sins. He carried us through storms we thought would break us. He gave us breath this morning, grace for today, mercy we did not earn, and blessings we have not even stopped long enough to count.The truth is, many of us are asking God for more while failing to thank Him for what is already in our hands.If God gave us everything on our list, we still could not count all His blessings. And if He gave us nothing else, Calvary would still be enough.Love for God cannot be conditional. It cannot be, “Lord, I will love You if…” Real love says, “Lord, I love You because You first loved me.”There is nothing wrong with bringing our needs to God. He invites us to pray. He cares about every burden, every tear, every fear, and every need. But prayer is not a business meeting, and faith is not a bargain.Today, lay down the honey-do list long enough to lift up a hallelujah.Before asking Him for another thing, thank Him for what He has already done. Let us PrayDear Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have treated You more like a servant than my Savior. Forgive me for measuring Your love by whether You answered my prayers the way I wanted. Help me to see the blessings already around me. Teach me to love You without conditions, to trust You without demands, and to praise You not only for what You can do, but for what You have already done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —John 14:27 Have you ever noticed how quickly peace can slip through our fingers?One phone call, one troubling headline, one unexpected change—and suddenly our hearts are racing and our minds are spinning with worry.The world offers its own version of peace: financial security, comfortable circumstances, good health and the absence of conflict. Those things may bring temporary relief, but they are fragile foundations. They can change overnight.Jesus offers something entirely different.In the hours before His arrest and crucifixion, when He had every human reason to be troubled, Jesus promised His disciples a peace that could not be explained by their circumstances. He was not offering them an escape from hardship. He was giving them His own peace in the middle of it.This is not positive thinking or pretending that everything is fine. It is a supernatural calm rooted in who God is and what He has promised.It is the quiet assurance that whatever happens, we are still held in His hands. Beyond what we understand, beyond what we can control and beyond everything we fear, our loving Father remains faithful.Jesus does not merely wish peace upon us. He gives it to us as a gift.The world says, “You can have peace when the storm is over.”Jesus says, “You can have My peace while the storm is still raging.”That does not mean our hearts will never feel troubled or that fear will never knock at the door. It means fear does not have to move in and take control.When worry rises today, pause and remember the words of Jesus: “My peace I give you.”Receive what He has already placed within your reach. Release what you cannot control. Trust the One who is never shaken. Let us PrayDear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a peace that does not depend upon my circumstances. When my heart is troubled and fear begins to rise, help me remember that I am safe in Your hands. Quiet my anxious thoughts, strengthen my faith and teach me to rest in Your promises. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind today, no matter what may come. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Walking with Jesus — Daily Devotion“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7I used to think walking by faith meant feeling spiritual.Maybe it meant closing my eyes during worship, sensing God’s presence in a powerful way, or having supernatural peace in every situation.Then life punched me in the gut, and I learned something important:Faith is not dependent on how spiritual we feel.Paul wrote, *“For we walk by faith, not by sight,”* as a man who understood suffering. His life was not easy. He knew beatings, prison cells, shipwrecks, rejection, betrayal, weakness, and affliction. His eyes had seen plenty of reasons to be discouraged.Sight showed him hardship.Sight showed him pain.Sight showed him churches struggling, friends walking away, enemies pressing in, and prison walls closing around him.But faith remembered something sight could not explain.Faith remembered the risen Christ.That is the thing about sight. It can be a terrible judge of reality.Sight says the prodigal is never coming home.Sight says the diagnosis is final.Sight says the door is closed for good.Sight says you are too old, too young, too broken, too ordinary, or too far gone to matter.Sight counts the bank balance and panics.Sight watches the news and despairs.But faith knows something sight does not.Faith remembers that graves open. Seas part. Giants fall. Fire does not consume the faithful. Lions lose their appetite. Widows’ oil does not run dry. And a crucified Savior walked out of the tomb.Faith is not pretending everything is fine.Faith is trusting God when everything is not fine.It is knowing that what we see is temporary, but what we cannot see is eternal. It is taking the next step when the road is unclear. It is praying when the answer has not yet come. It is worshiping when the heart is heavy. It is obeying God when circumstances do not make sense.Walking by faith does not mean we ignore reality.It means we refuse to let visible circumstances have the final word.Today, your sight may be showing you impossibility.Good. That is exactly where faith does its best work.Because God is not limited by what we can see.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” - Colossians 4:2Prayer was never meant to be confined to a few hurried moments at the beginning or end of the day. It is meant to become the steady rhythm of our lives—the heartbeat of a daily walk with God.Colossians 4:2 calls us to devote ourselves to prayer. That means prayer is more than something we turn to only when trouble comes. It is continual communion with our Heavenly Father. It is learning to bring Him our needs, our fears, our decisions, our praise, and even the quiet thoughts we cannot put into words.This devotion to prayer is not a burden. It is a gift.Through prayer, we become more aware of God’s presence and more sensitive to His direction. We begin to recognize His hand at work in circumstances we might otherwise overlook. We learn to wait, to listen, and to trust.Paul also tells us to be watchful. Prayer requires spiritual attentiveness. We are to watch for God’s answers, watch for His guidance, and watch over our own hearts. Sometimes the answer comes differently than we expected, but a watchful heart will not miss the faithfulness of God simply because He chose another path.And as we watch, we are to remain thankful.Gratitude changes the way we see our lives. It reminds us that God is still good in the waiting, still faithful in the trial, and still present when the road ahead is unclear. Thanksgiving does not deny our struggles; it declares that our struggles do not have the final word.Today, let prayer become more than an appointment on your schedule. Let it become the atmosphere in which you live. Talk with God throughout the day. Watch for His hand. Thank Him for His mercy, His provision, and His unfailing love.A life devoted to prayer is a life lived in the conscious presence of God.
