Our Daily Devotion
“Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.’” – 2 Kings 20:5Have you ever received news that felt like the end of your story? One moment Hezekiah was leading a nation. The next, he was told, “Put your house in order.” Final. Devastating. Heavy as a stone. He turned his face to the wall, and tears became his only prayer.Yet before Isaiah had even left the palace courtyard, the Lord stopped him. “Go back,” God said. “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears.”Don’t miss this: the same God who told him to prepare for death was the God who granted him more life. The Lord who rules nations also notices tears. The One who holds the universe together pauses for a broken heart. He does not just see—He responds. He does not just hear—He moves.Between Hezekiah’s tears and heaven’s answer was only a courtyard’s distance.Maybe you’re facing your own impossible today. A diagnosis. A burden. A situation that feels final. Take heart. The same God who noticed Hezekiah’s tears notices yours. Your tears are not wasted. Your prayers are not ignored. And between your pain and His mercy may be only a courtyard’s distance.

The Other Half of the Story
Joseph — Power Without Revenge
Joseph’s life did not begin with authority. It began with betrayal. He was sold by his brothers, falsely accused, and forgotten in prison.Years passed where he had no control over his circumstances and no ability to correct the injustice done to him.But God was not only changing Joseph’s situation. He was changing Joseph.Because one day Joseph was given power — real power. The authority to judge. The authority to punish. The authority to repay what had been done. And the first people placed under that authority were the very men who had wronged him. This is where Scripture reveals a different definition of strength.Joseph did not pretend the past did not happen. He did not call evil good. He did not ignore justice. But he refused revenge.Instead, he used his authority to preserve life — including the lives of those who harmed him.Power, in Scripture, is not proven by how much a man can control. It is proven by what he chooses not to do when he finally can.Joseph had the right to make others feel what he had felt.He chose mercy instead.Christ fulfills this pattern. He faced betrayal without retaliation. He held authority without crushing the guilty. He used power to save rather than destroy.A man is not measured by whether he gains power. He is measured by whether power changes him.Because maturity is revealed the moment a man can finally repay wrong — and decides restoration is stronger.Masculinity in Scripture is not the freedom to avenge. It is the strength to redeem when revenge would be easier.
Our Daily Devotion

The Evidence of True Love
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18In a world where love is often reduced to posts, promises, and polite phrases, John reminds us that real love shows up. It moves. It acts. It costs something. Love is not measured by how loudly we speak it, but by how faithfully we live it.Jesus didn’t merely talk about love — He demonstrated it. He served. He sacrificed. He laid down His life. That is the pattern John points us toward. When we love in action and in truth, we make the invisible grace of God visible. Every quiet act of kindness, every unseen sacrifice, every choice to put someone else first becomes a testimony that Christ is alive in us.This kind of love is not always comfortable. It confronts our selfishness. It asks for our time, our patience, sometimes even our pride. Biblical love is not convenience; it is commitment. It is choosing obedience over emotion and service over self.I have learned over the years that the love people remember most was not what I said from a pulpit, but what I did when no one else was watching. Actions endure. Words fade.Today, ask the Lord to help you love in deed and in truth. Look for the opportunity He places in front of you — the person who needs encouragement, the situation that requires sacrifice, the moment that calls for grace. When we love like this, we reflect the heart of the One who first loved us.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.In His love and grace, ray mileur“Helping believers walk closer to Jesus, one day at a time.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"Real love starts when we stop asking who deserves it." ~ ray mileur That’s not natural for us. Our instinct is to measure. We weigh offenses. We remember words. We keep quiet scorecards in our minds. If someone treats us well, we respond in kind. If they don’t, we pull back. That feels fair. It feels justified. But the love God calls us to is different.Scripture reminds us that Christ loved us while we were still sinners. He did not wait for improvement. He did not require worthiness. He gave Himself first. That is the pattern of true love. When we begin asking who deserves our patience, our kindness, or our forgiveness, we have already stepped away from grace. Grace does not calculate. It gives.Loving this way does not mean ignoring wisdom or boundaries. It does mean choosing obedience over emotion. It means reflecting the mercy we ourselves depend on every single day.Consider this: the love you received from God today was not earned. It was given. And today and tomorrow, you will have the opportunity to give that same undeserved love to someone else. That is where real love begins.

Quote of the Day

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25Have you ever noticed how your heart feels after you help someone? That quiet warmth isn’t accidental. It’s how God designed things.Generosity isn’t always convenient. Sometimes we feel stretched thin — tired, busy, even worn down. And yet Proverbs reminds us of a simple truth: those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. This isn’t a prosperity formula. It’s a principle woven into God’s design. Like a river that keeps flowing because it stays connected to its source, the believer who gives stays connected to the Giver.I’ve found that some of my most encouraged days were days I chose to encourage someone else — even when I didn’t feel like I had much to offer.Today, look for one way to refresh someone. A word. A call. A small act of kindness. You may discover that in helping someone else stand a little taller, your own soul stands taller too.In God’s economy, generosity is never wasted.

The Law of Giving and Receiving

Quote of the Day
"We don't give to increase our standard of living, we give to increase our standard of serving." ~ ray mileurt’s possible to give for the wrong reasons.Proverbs teaches us that generosity refreshes the giver. There is blessing in pouring out. But the Apostle Paul adds an important guardrail: “If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing” (1 Corinthians 13:3).That verse strips away every hidden motive. We don’t give to impress. We don’t give to earn favor. We don’t give to secure a return. And we certainly don’t give so we can boast about sacrifice. We give because love compels us.Christian generosity is not a strategy for increasing our standard of living. It is an expression of a changed heart. When Christ gave Himself for us, He did not calculate a return on investment. He loved. And that love now shapes how we live. The world may treat giving like a transaction. But for the believer, it is worship. When love fuels our generosity, it honors God and blesses others — and whether anyone notices or not, that is enough.
