Peter Walked on Water the Second Time Most of us know the story.Jesus comes walking across the stormy sea. Peter steps out of the boat. For a brief, breathtaking moment, he does the impossible — he walks on water toward Jesus. Then the wind catches his attention. Fear creeps in. Faith wavers. And Peter begins to sink. That part gets preached often. But there’s a moment almost no one talks about — the moment after Jesus reaches down, grabs Peter’s hand, and lifts him up.Scripture doesn’t say Peter swam back to the boat. It doesn’t say Jesus carried him. It doesn’t say the other disciples rushed in to help.It simply says they walked back to the boat together. That means Peter walked on water a second time. Not by bold faith. Not by confidence. Not by proving anything. He walked while holding on to Jesus. The first walk showed Peter’s courage. The second walk revealed Jesus’ grace. The first walk began with “Come.” The second walk continued with “Stay with Me.”And that second walk might be the greater miracle.Because most of us know what it feels like to step out in faith… and most of us also know what it feels like to sink. What we often forget is this: Jesus doesn’t just rescue us from the water — He walks us back.Grace doesn’t shame us. Grace doesn’t lecture us. Grace takes our hand and says, “Let’s go back together.”If you’ve stumbled… If fear distracted you… If you feel like you didn’t finish strong…Take heart. You haven’t missed your miracle. You may just be in the middle of your second walk. And walking with Jesus is always enough. Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you. Noah stepped into an ark with no rudder, no map, and no backup plan — only the promise of God. In the same way, God is not asking anything more of us today than He asked of Noah: to trust His Word, surrender control, and step forward in faith. The same God who carried the ark will carry you too.In His love, ray

Microwave Salvation
In a world built on speed and convenience, it’s no surprise that even faith can be tempted to move too fast.We live in the age of the microwave — instant meals, instant answers, instant results. And sometimes, without meaning to, we try to treat salvation the same way.“Microwave salvation” is what happens when the gospel is reduced to a brief presentation and a quick prayer, followed almost immediately by the declaration that someone is now saved. The sinner’s prayer itself is not the problem. The danger comes when we confuse repeating words with being reborn.Scripture never presents salvation as a rushed transaction. Jesus spoke of repentance, of denying oneself, of counting the cost before following Him. The apostles described salvation as a new birth, a transformation of heart, a life that begins to bear fruit. Real conversion is not merely a moment — it is the beginning of a lifelong surrender. The greatest danger in rushing the process is not shallow faith, but false security. When someone is quickly assured they are saved without a clear understanding of repentance, lordship, and new life in Christ, they may walk away believing everything is settled when nothing has truly changed. They may be baptized, counted, celebrated — and yet never experience the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. We would never trust a microwave to build a marriage, raise a child, or train a soldier — but sometimes we trust it with a soul.Evangelism is not salesmanship. Souls are not statistics. The goal is not to collect prayers, decisions, or numbers, but to witness the miracle of a heart made new. True conversion may be quiet or dramatic, immediate or gradual, but it always bears fruit in repentance, obedience, and a growing love for Christ.Because there is no reset button on where someone will spend eternity, offering false assurance through ceremony instead of true submission and repentance is heartbreaking. So let us share the gospel faithfully, patiently, and prayerfully. Let us trust the Holy Spirit to do the work only He can do. And let us care more about transformed lives than notches on our belts and impressive tallies in our annual reports.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.In His love and grace, ray mileur“Helping believers walk closer to Jesus, one day at a time.” www.raymileurministries.com

Rediscovering the Charm of Mayberry

Ask the Pastor?
“Pastor, I’m frustrated. I keep hearing that I need more faith, but I don’t feel like I have enough. I pray, I try, but nothing seems to change. Maybe I just don’t have the kind of faith that other Christians have?” Mary C.
My response
Let me say something plainly, and with love: You probably don’t lack faith — you lack the Living Word in your life. The Bible does not say faith comes from trying harder, feeling stronger, or comparing yourself to other believers. It says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).Faith is not self-manufactured. It is God-generated.If the Word of God is absent, neglected, or only visited occasionally, faith will always feel thin and fragile. But when the Living Word is present — read, believed, obeyed, and trusted — faith grows naturally, quietly, steadily.Jesus never rebuked people for having questions. He rebuked them for not knowing the Scriptures (Matthew 22:29). Because faith is anchored not in emotion, but in truth. Here’s the hard part: Many believers are asking God for stronger faith while ignoring the very source that produces it.The problem is not that you don’t have enough faith. The problem is that you don’t have enough of God’s Word shaping your mind, your heart, and your decisions. When the Word takes root, faith follows. So don’t ask God for more faith first. Ask Him for a deeper hunger for His Word.Because where the Word lives richly, faith will never starve. Let me pray for you Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You today on behalf of Mary, who feels weary and uncertain in her faith. Lord, You know her heart better than she does. You see her doubts, her questions, her disappointments, and the quiet fear that she’s not “strong enough” for You.Father, remind her that faith is not something she has to manufacture—it is something she receives from You. Your Word tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Draw her back to Your truth, not as a burden, but as a lifeline. Let Your Word settle her anxious thoughts, steady her emotions, and anchor her heart in what does not change.Lord, replace her self-doubt with confidence in Your promises. Help her understand that even mustard-seed faith is precious in Your sight. Teach her to bring her weakness to You instead of hiding it from You, because Your strength is made perfect in weakness.Breathe new life into her spiritual walk. Give her hunger for Your Word, a quiet courage to trust You again, and peace that doesn’t depend on how she feels today. Let her know she is not behind, not broken, and not forgotten—but loved, held, and still being shaped by Your hands. We place her faith, her fears, and her future in Your care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.In His loveray

Quote of the Day
Sometimes the hardest part of faith isn’t believing that God can work — it’s trusting Him when we can’t see what He’s doing. Seasons of waiting, loss, or uncertainty can feel like winter that will never end. But just as surely as spring follows winter, God is quietly working beneath the surface of your life, preparing growth you can’t yet see. His timing is never random, never careless, and never late. Even when the days feel cold and silent, He is still writing your story with purpose, love, and redemption. In His loveray
