Bible Stories for Kids - Adam & Eve
Once upon a time, in a beautiful garden called Eden, God created the first two people, Adam and Eve. The garden had lots of trees full of delicious fruits, and Adam and Eve could eat from any tree except one. This tree was called the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God told them not to eat from this tree, or they would know things that God didn't want them to know yet.
Adam and Eve were very happy in the garden. They played with the animals, picked fruits, and enjoyed the sunshine. One day, a sneaky snake came to Eve. The snake was clever and tried to trick Eve. "Did God really say you can't eat from any tree?" asked the snake.
Eve replied, "We can eat fruit from the trees, but not from the one in the middle of the garden. If we do, we will know things God doesn’t want us to know."
The snake said, "You won't die! You'll be like God, knowing good and evil." Eve looked at the tree and saw that its fruit looked delicious. She picked the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.
Suddenly, they felt different. They realized they were naked, so they made clothes from fig leaves to cover themselves. When God came to walk with them in the garden, Adam and Eve hid because they felt ashamed. God called, "Where are you?"
Adam said, "We heard you and hid because we were naked." God knew what had happened. He was sad that they had disobeyed Him. God told Adam and Eve they had to leave the garden and work hard for their food. But God still loved them very much. He made clothes for them and promised that one day, someone would come to fix what had gone wrong.
