Bible Studies for Kids - Noah's Ark
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there lived a good and faithful man named Noah. Noah loved God very much, and he always tried to listen to what God said. One day, God spoke to Noah and told him about a big flood that would cover the world. God said, "Noah, I want you to build a big boat called an ark. This ark will keep you, your family, and many animals safe during the flood."
Noah listened carefully to God and began to build the giant ark just as God had instructed. He worked very hard, using strong wood and making sure everything was perfect. As Noah built the ark, he also gathered two of every kind of animal—elephants, tigers, birds, and even tiny ants! He brought them onto the ark in pairs, one male and one female, so they could be safe too.
Finally, after all the animals were on board and Noah’s family was safe inside, the rain began to fall. It rained and rained for forty days and forty nights. The water rose higher and higher, covering everything on Earth, but the ark floated safely on top of the water.
After the rain stopped, it took a long time for the water to go away. Finally, one day, the ark came to rest on a mountain. Noah sent out a dove to see if the land was dry. The dove flew back with an olive leaf, which meant the water had gone down and land was near.
Noah and his family and all the animals finally came out of the ark onto dry land. They were so happy and thankful to be safe. God promised Noah that He would never again flood the world like that. He put a beautiful rainbow in the sky as a sign of His promise. Every time Noah saw a rainbow, he remembered God's love and promise to the world.ACTActivity
Activity
Let's make a rainbow craft to remind us of God's promise!
Materials Needed:
- White paper plate
- Cotton balls
- Colorful crayons or markers (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. **Cut the Plate:** First, take the paper plate and cut it in half. You'll just need one half for this craft.
2. **Color the Rainbow:** On the curved edge of the plate, use your crayons or markers to draw a rainbow. Start with red and add stripes of each color: orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
3. **Add Clouds:** Take a few cotton balls and gently pull them apart to make them look fluffy like clouds. Stick them to the straight edge of the plate using glue.
4. **Let it Dry:** Allow the glue to dry completely.
5. **Hang it Up:** Once dry, you can hang your rainbow craft on the wall or by a window to remind you of God’s promise.
Reflection Questions for the Kids, hey and the teachers too.
1. Why do you think God asked Noah to build an ark?
2. How do you feel when you see a rainbow in the sky?
3. What are some ways you can listen to and follow what God says?
