"Calling all men of God to man up" is a phrase used to encourage Christian men to actively embrace their leadership roles, demonstrating strong moral character, courage, and responsibility in their faith, essentially acting as the spiritual leaders God intended them to be, especially in challenging situations.

Across America, we are witnessing a decline in the expression of masculinity within our churches. Many men have become sidetracked by worldly distractions, neglecting their vital roles as husbands and fathers. This has led to concerning repercussions in our society, including children's misbehavior and the struggles of single mothers striving to support their families alone.

However, we stand on the brink of a revival! It is time to reclaim our responsibilities and strengthen our communities together.

"Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. 7 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us." —Titus 2:7

At its essence, Christian masculinity is a beautiful call to stewardship and sacrificial love, rather than dominance. It draws inspiration from Jesus Christ, who exemplified strength through gentleness, courage through humility, and true leadership through service. In today’s world, there is a wonderful opportunity for us to reclaim and uplift these profound values that truly enrich our lives and communities.

Reviving Christian masculinity is an inspiring journey that calls us to challenge harmful stereotypes and toxic behaviors often misrepresented as masculine. It entails rejecting harmful attitudes of entitlement, aggression, and objectification, and instead embracing a spirit of humility and integrity. Christian men are encouraged to serve as exemplary role models within their families, honoring the dignity and worth of every individual, all created in the image of God. Together, we can foster a culture of respect and love, guiding our families to uphold these essential values.

"For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish." — Ephesians 5:23-33

Christian husbands and fathers embody a remarkable example for their families across all facets of life! Embracing Christian masculinity means wholeheartedly accepting responsibility in every environment—be it home, workplace, or community. This involves actively cultivating loving relationships, providing for and supporting our families, and making meaningful contributions to society. Whether it's fostering professional connections, volunteering to coach the basketball team (with a calm and encouraging spirit!), or treating your wife to a special dinner to express your heartfelt appreciation, each action reflects the values of our faith. As devoted followers of Christ, we are called to take accountability for our actions and strive for integrity in all that we do. Let’s inspire and uplift those around us, making our communities stronger and our families happier!

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."  —2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Consistently taking the lead can be quite draining! This is why true Christian men are encouraged to embrace vulnerability before the Lord. By inviting Him into the challenging and painful aspects of their souls, they experience His promise of upliftment and empowerment. God enriches them with courage, self-discipline, and resilience. In a society that often defines masculinity by emotional repression or aggression, choosing vulnerability and empathy stands as a powerful testament to Jesus-centered masculinity. Let's celebrate this courageous journey toward authentic strength!

Christian men, too, are entrusted with the remarkable calling to embody Christ-like compassion for those facing challenges. Jesus Christ's ministry beautifully exemplified compassion for the marginalized and suffering. As devoted followers, men are invited to mirror this compassion by championing justice, advocating for the voiceless, and offering a loving hand to those in need. Genuine strength resides in the profound acts of kindness, forgiveness, and reconciliation that we extend to one another. Let's embrace this calling wholeheartedly!
