God calls us to be faithful in the little things!
We all aspire to achieve remarkable things in the name of Jesus, but it’s essential to recognize that His “ministry of small things” beautifully aligns with biblical teachings about God’s kingdom. In the parable of the yeast, Jesus illustrates how the kingdom of heaven begins with something as humble as a pinch of leaven. Although yeast is nearly invisible and often unnoticed in its action, it profoundly transforms the dough over time (Matt. 13:22). Our small, steadfast efforts may seem insignificant, but when done with love and perseverance, they can lead to impactful and extraordinary results!
While Jesus may not have been perceived as extraordinary during His time (Isa. 53:2) and His gospel might have initially appeared modest (1 Cor. 1:18), the depth of His influence on world history is undeniably significant. Notably, even those within His church, who may not align with conventional worldly standards (1 Cor. 1:26), have been instrumental in this process. Both His teachings and the contributions of His followers have facilitated a remarkable transformation throughout the world.
This Scriptural pattern reveals a refreshing perspective on our journey. It reminds us that God calls us to be faithful in every task He assigns, no matter how grand or humble they may seem. In truth, it is our commitment to the small duties that demonstrates our readiness for greater responsibilities. As Jesus wisely stated, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much” (Luke 16:10). Our small acts of faithfulness will undoubtedly be instrumental in bringing Him great glory!
