Quote of the Day
"A wise man doesn't deny his emotions, he lays them at God's feet." ~ ray mileurMost of us were taught one of two extremes when it comes to emotions. Either stuff them down and pretend they don’t exist, or let them spill out on everyone around us. Neither one leads to peace.God never asked us to deny what we feel. He made us human, not stone. Jesus Himself wept, felt compassion, and even showed righteous anger. Emotions aren’t the problem. What we do with them is.A wise person learns not to be ruled by every passing feeling. Instead of reacting in the heat of the moment, we learn to pause and bring our hearts to God first. We lay our frustration, hurt, and anger at His feet and ask Him to shape our response. That’s where strength is found.Anyone can explode. Anyone can shut down. But it takes maturity — and the Spirit’s help — to surrender our emotions to the Lord and let Him turn them into patience, kindness, and grace. When we do that, our lives start to look different. Calmer. Steadier. More like Christ. That’s wisdom. Not control for control’s sake, but a heart trusted to God.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you. Quote of the Day

Laying Everything at His Feet
“A fool expresses all his emotions, but a wise person controls them.” Proverbs 29:11Emotions are a gift from God. They’re real, and they matter. Joy, compassion, even anger—they remind us we’re alive. But like any gift, they need wisdom. Most of us have said things we regret in the heat of the moment. We’ve reacted out of hurt. We’ve let frustration speak before prayer had a chance. Emotions can rise like waves, fast and strong. This verse reminds us the goal isn’t to pretend we don’t feel. It’s to slow down long enough to bring those feelings to God and let Him guide our response.Emotions are a lot like fire. Handled well, they bring warmth and light. Left unchecked, they burn everything around them. God doesn’t ask us to shut down our hearts. He asks us to place them in His hands. In His care, anger can turn into understanding, and hurt can turn into healing. When you feel your emotions rising, pause and pray first. Give God room to steady you. He’ll give you peace and strength you didn’t have a moment before.Real strength isn’t hiding what we feel. It’s letting God shape how we respond. Kindness, patience, and self-control don’t come naturally—they come from walking closely with Him.And that’s what sets a wise person apart.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.In His love and grace, ray mileur Helping believers walk closer to Jesus, one day at a time.

Quote of the Day
"Faith built in the small moments prepares you for the big ones." ~ ray mileurMost of life isn’t made up of big, dramatic moments. It’s made up of ordinary Tuesdays. Quiet mornings. Phone calls no one else hears. Prayers whispered when nobody’s watching. That’s where faith is really formed.Long before God ever uses us in something visible, He shapes us in the unseen. The small choices. The daily obedience. Showing up when it would be easier to stay home. Doing the right thing when there’s no applause. Serving when no one notices.Ministry is like an iceberg. People might see five or ten percent of what happens — a post, a message, a prayer, a visit. But underneath the surface are the hours of preparation, the quiet burdens, the private prayers, and the steady faithfulness that only God sees. And that’s enough.Because fruit doesn’t come from the spotlight. It comes from roots.God uses the hidden work to prepare us for the moments that matter most. He builds strength in the small things so we’re ready when the big things come.So don’t despise the ordinary. Stay faithful. Keep showing up. Keep praying. What God is growing beneath the surface today will support the harvest tomorrow.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you.
Scripture of the Day
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:17 (ESV)It doesn’t get much plainer than that.Whatever you do. In word or deed. Do everything in the name of Jesus.Paul doesn’t carve life into categories — church stuff and regular stuff, sacred and ordinary. To him, it’s all the same. Every word, every task, every small responsibility falls under Christ’s Lordship. That changes how we live.It means the way you speak to your spouse matters. The way you treat the cashier matters. The attitude you bring to work matters. Even the quiet, unnoticed things — stacking chairs, washing dishes, making one more phone call, saying one more prayer — matter.Because we’re not just getting things done. We’re representing Jesus. And notice something else: gratitude. “Giving thanks.” Not grumbling. Not keeping score. Gratitude. When our hearts are thankful and our actions are done in His name, even the smallest task becomes an act of worship.Turns out, there really aren’t any little things. There’s just faithfulness.Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you. Scripture of the Day

Sweating the Small Stuff
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31You’ve probably heard it a hundred times: “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”That might work for the world. But it doesn’t work very well in ministry.Because most of life — and almost all of ministry — is small stuff.Paul says whatever you do. Not just the big, spiritual moments. Not just Sunday mornings. Whatever you do. Eating breakfast. Pouring coffee. Answering a text. Showing up for work. God meets us right there in the routine. There really isn’t a line between sacred and ordinary. The way you talk to your family, how you handle pressure, the patience you show when you’re tired — that’s where faith shows up.Glorifying God usually isn’t loud or dramatic. It’s steady. Quiet. Faithful.Listening when you’d rather argue. Serving when no one notices. Forgiving when it costs you.Day after day, those small choices tell the truth about who we belong to.I’ve learned something over the years: ministry is like an iceberg. People might see five or ten percent — a message, a post, a visit, a prayer. But underneath the surface are the phone calls, the preparation, the private burdens, and a whole lot of quiet faithfulness that only God sees. And honestly, that’s where most of the real work happens. So yes — we sweat the small stuff.Because that’s where faith is built. That’s where God shapes hearts. That’s where fruit grows.Do the next right thing today. Honor God in the ordinary. Nothing done for Him is wasted.Even the little things matter. Walk in faith, rest in grace, and trust the One who walks beside you. In His love and grace, ray mileurHelping believers walk closer to Jesus, one day at a time.

More Than Proverbs 31: Biblical Womanhood Beyond the Stereotype
The Whole Picture — One Faith, Many WomenAfter walking through the stories of Eve, Sarah, Hagar, Miriam, Deborah, Ruth, Hannah, Esther, Mary, and Mary Magdalene, something becomes clear.Biblical womanhood is not one personality type. Some were quiet. Some were bold. Some waited. Some spoke. Some nurtured. Some confronted. Some wept. Some led. What they shared was not temperament, stage of life, or circumstance. They trusted God. ⸻ Does This Contradict Proverbs 31?At first glance, people sometimes treat Proverbs 31 as though it replaces the rest of Scripture — as if that chapter gives a single narrow mold every woman must fit.But the Bible never contradicts itself. It complements itself.Proverbs 31 describes a woman who fears the Lord, acts with wisdom, cares for her household, and lives with diligence and generosity. When you look closely, the women we studied don’t compete with that picture — they fill it out.• Eve shows us God’s mercy when we fail • Sarah shows faith stretched by waiting • Hagar shows the God who sees suffering • Miriam and Deborah show courage and influence • Ruth shows loyal love • Hannah shows prayerful surrender • Esther shows timely courage • Mary shows wholehearted obedience • Mary Magdalene shows faithful devotionProverbs 31 is not a checklist. It is a portrait of a God-fearing life lived across many seasons — the same life these women lived in different ways. ⸻ Strength Is Not the Opposite of GentlenessModern culture often offers women two options: be hard and self-reliant, or be soft and silent.Scripture offers neither. The Bible never praises harshness, but it also never praises passive complicity with wrongdoing. Faithfulness sometimes looks like patient endurance, and sometimes it looks like refusing to participate in sin.Ruth stayed when love required sacrifice. Esther spoke when silence would have been wrong. Both honored God.Biblical womanhood isn’t measured by how quiet or outspoken a woman is.It is measured by whether she obeys the Lord in the moment she is given. ⸻ Identity Before RoleOne thread runs through every woman in this series. They belonged to God before they performed for anyone else. They were not praised because life was easy. They were praised because they trusted Him within the life they had.You are first a daughter of God.From that identity flow every other calling — wife, mother, friend, worker, servant — not as roles you must perfect, but places you live faithfully. ⸻ Living It TodayBiblical womanhood today will rarely look dramatic. Most of the time it looks like: • apologizing when you’re wrong • speaking truth with gentleness • praying when you feel helpless • persevering in love • setting boundaries that protect what is good • raising children toward Christ • honoring God in ordinary routinesThe women of Scripture were not trying to become impressive. They were trying to become faithful. And faithfulness, lived daily, has always been how God changes the world. ⸻ Closing Prayer Lord, anchor my identity in being Your daughter. Teach me faithfulness in every season, courage when it’s needed, and humility always. Let my life reflect trust in You above all else. Amen.
