“God Doesn’t Grant Exceptions”There’s a dangerous idea floating around in the modern church: If I’m successful, God must be pleased with me.Crowds… money… influence… platforms… and suddenly a person starts to think they’re the exception, as if God hands out waivers to the chosen frozen.But Scripture paints a different picture. Remember Paul’s words in Galatians 1:10 (ESV):“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”Paul draws a line in the sand: Approval from people is not the same as approval from God. Success is not the same as faithfulness. Popularity is not the same as obedience.Some of the biggest false prophets in Israel’s history had the biggest followings. They were celebrated, influential, admired… and wrong. Success did not make them true. Applause did not make them anointed.Here’s the truth we all need to settle deep in our bones:God does not hand out waivers, so that you can ignore the Word. He does not issue exceptions, so that you can twist Scriptures. And the Word of God cannot mean something today that it never meant yesterday.Success may comfort the conscience, but it does not confirm the calling.And for those of us just trying to walk steady — no spotlight, no fanfare, - just simple obedience, take heart:God honors faithfulness, not fame. Truth over trends. Obedience over outcomes.What God said in the beginning, is still what He means today, and it will still be what He means tomorrow.Hold steady, my friend, because the measure has never changed.Having financial success, doen't make a false prophet, being any less than one, only well funded.

But without it, you’d never see the beauty of the One on the stage.And that’s the miracle, when the Spirit is truly at work, Jesus becomes clearer. The Word becomes sweeter. Conviction becomes mercy. Worship becomes surrender. And holiness becomes desire — not duty.The Holy Spirit has all the power of heaven, yet He moves with the humility of heaven. He convicts, comforts, strengthens, teaches, guides…And He does it quietly, faithfully, consistently — never drawing attention to Himself, always drawing sinners and saints to Christ.In a world addicted to noise, hype, and spiritual showmanship, the Holy Spirit whispers: “Look to Jesus.”If the focus is on the preacher, the emotion, the experience, or the spectacle — that’s not the Spirit.But if the focus is on Christ, lifted up and made beautiful…You can be sure the Spirit is near.Closing Reflection - Maybe the most Spirit-filled people aren’t the loudest, flashiest, or most dramatic, maybe they’re the ones whose lives quietly shine a steady, unmistakable light on Jesus — the same way the Spirit Himself does.Lord, make us like that, less spotlight. more Jesus. "Being of One Spirit With God… Doesn’t Make Us Gods"&nbsp; There’s a beautiful truth in 1 Corinthians 6:17: “But whoever is united with the Lord is one spirit with Him.”That’s a breathtaking picture of what happens when Christ saves us—we are spiritually joined to Him. His life animates ours. His Spirit testifies with our spirit. His presence shapes us from the inside out.But let’s be crystal clear: - This unity does not make us divine. - Being united with God is not the same as becoming God.Sadly, this passage is often stretched far beyond its intent. Some false teachers have used it to claim that Christians are “little gods,” or that we share “the same DNA as Jesus.” That might sound impressive from a stage, but it isn’t what Scripture teaches.Paul wasn’t writing about humans becoming divine—he was addressing something very different. In the context of 1 Corinthians 6, he was reminding the church that Jews and Gentiles alike are brought together in one Spirit, belonging to one Body, under one Lord.Unity with Christ does not equal equality to Christ.And this is where the role of the Holy Spirit shines so brightly. - The Spirit convicts us of sin. - The Spirit comforts us. - The Spirit intercedes when we don’t even know what to pray. - The Spirit equips us with gifts for the work of the Kingdom.The Spirit places us in the Body of Christ exactly where God wants us. But even with the Spirit dwelling within us, something holy remains: He is not us… and we are not Him.And thank God for that.He is infinitely wise, perfectly holy, eternally sovereign—everything we are not.Our unity with God is not about divinity. - It’s about identity—belonging to Christ. - It’s about transformation—becoming more like Him. - It’s about relationship—walking in step with the Spirit who guides, corrects, strengthens, and sanctifiens us.In closing, eing of one spirit with God does not make us gods. Money tips. Parenting tips. “Just tell me what to do, and I’ll do better.”But the irony is—if the Bible were just a self-help manual, we’d still be stuck exactly where we already are: lost, tired, and wondering why all our “steps to a better life” keep falling short.Because the Bible isn’t a map to self-improvement. It’s the story of God’s redemption.The Bible Is More Than Guidelines—It’s the Greatest Story Ever Told.To shrink the Bible down to a book of principles is to miss the entire point.Scripture isn’t primarily about what we should do for God—it’s about what God has done for us.It’s the grand narrative of:- A holy God - A broken world - A Savior who steps in - And a people He’s redeeming, restoring, and reshapingThe Bible doesn’t just hand out advice—it reveals God, and in revealing Him, it reveals who we are and why we desperately need Him.Self-help tries to fix the symptoms.Scripture exposes the disease—and points to the cure.Reading the Bible the Right Way. Every verse lives inside a bigger story.• What does this passage reveal about Jesus? All Scripture points to Him—front to back.• How does this fit with the rest of the Bible? Truth never contradicts itself.• What does this show me about God’s character—and how should I respond?The goal isn’t information. It’s transformation.These questions shift your reading from “What can I get out of this?” to “How is God speaking through this?”The Bible Isn’t a Tool—It’s an Invitation.Scripture doesn’t invite you to pull out a nugget for the day and sprint off on your own.It invites you to step into the story, sit with the Author, and let Him reshape your heart, mind, and priorities.This isn’t about using the Bible to improve your life. It’s about surrendering your life so God can transform it.And if your approach in the past has been different—no shame, no guilt, no beating yourself up. It just means today is a perfect day to start fresh.Open the Scriptures with expectation. - Ask the right questions. - Let the Word reveal the heart of God. - Let the story change your story.You’re not picking up a self-help book. And if you let it—it’ll transform yours too.At the end of the day, the Bible isn’t about “living your best life now.” It’s about knowing the God who came to rescue you, redeem you, and rewrite your story from the inside out. Your “best life” doesn’t start with better habits or better circumstances — it starts with a Savior. And when you anchor your life in Him, you won’t just live better… you’ll live truly. Not because life is perfect, but because He is present, and His Word leads you deeper into the life you were created for.
