If I don’t start my morning anchored in God’s Word, the day has a way of pushing me around. My mood follows the headlines. My thoughts chase worries. My peace depends on circumstances.That’s no way to live.But when I open my Bible first thing, something steadies inside me. My heart slows down. My perspective clears. I’m reminded who God is — and who I belong to.Scripture says, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Faith doesn’t magically appear. It grows when we consistently hear God’s truth. Day by day. Verse by verse.That’s why time in the Word matters so much. It feeds faith. It strengthens resolve. It guards our minds before the world has a chance to fill them with noise.I’ve found that an open Bible in the morning doesn’t just change how I start the day — it changes how I walk through it.Because when God speaks first, everything else falls into its proper place.

Now he struggled with the One he could not outmaneuver.He did not win.His hip was struck. His strength reduced to a limp he would carry every step afterward.Then God asked his name.Not for information — but for confession.“Jacob.” The name meant grasping, striving, taking.And God gave him another: “Israel.”Not the man who seizes blessing, but the man who clings to God for it.Jacob left that night weaker than he entered it, and for the first time, ready to walk forward honestly.The limp was not punishment.It was remembrance.Every step afterward required dependence.Christ fulfills this pattern.Power in Scripture is transformed through surrender. Authority is entrusted after humility. Leadership begins when self-reliance ends.A man does not become steady when life becomes manageable.He becomes steady when he stops needing control in order to trust God.Masculinity is not the ability to force life into order.It is the willingness to lean on God when it is not.Because sometimes God does not strengthen a man by making him stronger, but by making it impossible for him to stand without Him. He knows you completely and still calls you precious.To be “fearfully” made means you were crafted with reverence and care. God didn’t rush you into existence. You weren’t mass-produced. You were formed on purpose.And “wonderfully” made? That means there’s only one you. One voice. One story. One life that sees the world exactly the way you do. No explanation of how the promise would unfold.Only a direction — and the responsibility to step forward first.And attached to that call was a promise:He would have a son. His descendants would become a nation. And through that family, blessing would reach the world.Biblical leadership does not begin with having answers.It begins with trusting God enough to move before the path is visible.Abraham was not just choosing for himself. He was choosing for everyone who would follow him.His family would walk where he walked. They would settle where he stopped. They would learn trust from the direction he took.This is a different kind of strength:To move without guarantees To decide without control To carry uncertainty without passing fear onto othersYears passed.Nothing looked different. Age increased. The promised son did not come.The visible world told a different story than the one God had spoken.And still Abraham kept walking.Because biblical faith is not confidence in outcomes — it is confidence in the One who spoke before the outcome exists.And in time — long after hope seemed reasonable — the son God promised was born.Not quickly. Not naturally. But faithfully.Christ fulfills this pattern.He called disciples to follow before they understood. He walked toward the cross while others demanded proof.
